Folks,
I have been spending a lot of my computer time talking big tractors on Antique Tractors Forum. They are a great bunch of folks just like OCC folks! Since I now have 4 full size tractors on the mini farm they have demanded my time. I do still have a bunch of Cubs waiting for attention too! And I do check up on my OCC friends! I just bought a 127 at a auction this afternoon. This guy just had everything! From Model A cars to tractors to bicycles and sleighs and all things in between. This was the third day of the sale. A great value was a Ford 800 for $1600! (I like the 127 narrow frame style as we now have three in the family ![]() As I visited with a acquaintance I mentioned that I was interested in the 127 Cub, he said if I paid more than 3 bills I would be crazy! Well heck, I knew I was already crazy so that opened the door to spend a little more than that if needed too. "If you want it just keep raising your hand". The sheet metal looks pretty good. A few wrinkles in the rear fenders. Had oil in the crankcase, and motor was free. Has electric lift. Has 42 inch deck. I tried to start it but the battery was too weak. I checked what I could prior to bidding and it had a little battery left to run the electric lift up and down. Deck seems to be in good shape, Belts were in tact. Still has the IH sticker, and blades felt decent. After I bought it the young man that I out bid helped me jump it with another tractor and I drove it to the truck for loading. Like most of this vintage it was not charging. This tractor has the dealer sticker/s and came from a dealer about 3 miles from this auction in Northeast PA (east side of Erie). I will try to get some pictures, for the next post, because I know you folks thrive on those , And I do too? This tractor is ear marked for my daughters farm to mow lawn next year. Of course I will try to give it a good once over. As usually all comments welcome! Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
