Alright, as promised, pics of the 127. Here she is on the back of the truck sitting outside of work. I really do think she's in pretty good cosmetic shape. It almost looks like someone started a restore on this before. That, or the thing has been garage kept and not run much it's whole life.
![]() Quick pic of the right hand side, does that wiring bundle look right to you guys? ![]() This side is the worst part of the ol' girl. I don't know how they manged to get it so dirty but here it is. The choke and throttle cables are in need of a little TLC, they are very stiff and not mounted to anything as it sits right now. ![]() ![]() The spark plug. I want to get a new one because it's hard to tell if the spark plug is stripped or the hole is stripped. I do lean towards the hole being stripped, though, as I don't see a whole lot of thread when I look into it ![]() ![]() Engine plate ![]() Transmission plate ![]() Dash, a bit faded but all there. You can't really see it in this picture but there is a wear mark where the hydro lever rubbed against the tin ![]() Well, there she is. Honestly, I don't even know where to start. This is my first NF and beyond that, this is my first tractor with this type of ignition. Ugh, what did I get myself into!! ![]() Oh well, it'll be a new challenge for me. My first step is going to be to go more into depth with the basics; make sure that it's got enough, and the right kind, of oil, make sure ALL electrical connections are solid, get the choke and throttle cables situated correctly and loosened up, and give the carb a little TLC. Aside from that, I'm open to any and all suggestions. I'll gladly post progress as I continue with the 127. I'll have a little time tomorrow to work with it, then I have a 4 day weekend starting July 4th so hopefully I'll have a little time to work with her then.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
