What else would you check with Hydro fluid out?
Hi guys new member here. Just picked up a 1974 149 couple weeks ago for couple hundred bucks. Had an older IH Cub many years ago, regret selling it. Anyways, back to the 149 and a question. The tractor is in reasonable good condition. Koehler fires right up and seems to run well. Hydraulic lift operates properly, not sure yet on the condition of the PTO, as the tractor came with a 44" deck, but was not on. After moving the tractor into the shop, and suffering from a slight case of whiplash, the next day I noticed the puddle on the floor under the tractor.
After doing some research, I first checked the check valves on top of the pump. They are the manuals and seem to be fine- no leak here! The pump is pretty clean,and free of dirt and crud. Checked the lines into pump- nothing. Nothing under the rear gasket, or from the filter. Can't seem to isolate exactly where this leak is! I'm going to replace the rear axle seals. Is there anything else you guys would recommend checking before putting the new fluid in? Really like to fix this thing now before moving on. It's not a really bad leak, but still annoying! Thanks!
