Any secrets to swapping Lift Valve?

After a couple weeks of trying to unstick the lift valve assembly on my Quietline, I give up and have located a good used unit. What am I up against when I remove the hydraulic lines? Is oil going to fly everywhere? Will there be air introduced to the system? Will I need to add oil and purge the air? If so, how so I do this? I did a search in the technical library but could not find out answers to these questions. Maybe I am thinking too much but it seems to me, unless the new lift valve is full of oil, there will be air introduced and that can't be good. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it.
