For what its worth the Cub and the John Deere engines in the Quietline and JD-140 era use basically the same electric PTO's with the exception of the size of the pulley and the bolt pattern of the field coil. Also the length of the crankshaft is different.
The length of the crankshaft can be over come with different length spacers where the bolt to the crankshaft mounts. Something I run across is a electric PTO from a 1100 cub will not work on other Quietline kohler engines, but it will bolt up to the John Deere engine as they have the same bolt pattern on the field coils. This gives you several different combinations you can come up with by using parts from the different PTO's. You can swap pulleys, you can use different field coils, or combinations of the different PTO's and not have to drill the block to mount the field coil. Just something to consider.
