Default Carb Problem on 1250

Worst possible time, holiday weekend everything closed fo cc parts.

Cutting the grass last night, engine starts to stumble, loose power, & dies. If i raise the cutters & take the load off the engine, I can drive back to shed. I aslo can restart, but does not like to low idle.

Today, pulled it apart, air cleaner has alot of liquid gas in element, but tractor would start & run. In the garage, I'm running engine at wot with air cleaner removed & it looks to me like too much liquid fuel is entering the air stream. I'm thinking debris on the needle & seat. Problem is, if I pull the float bowl off, I don't have a spare gasket & o-ring, & I recall your'e kidding yourself trying yo reassemble with the old stuff. I maybe wrong, but I would like other opinions. Also, could this be a vent or adjustment problem?

Thanks, FJK

Sometimes you can clear the obstruction in the needle and seat. While it is running, take a hard plastic screw driver handle and tap on the fuel inlet of the carb. If the blockage is small enough, the tapping may help it go ahead and pass through the needle and seat and correct the problem.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
