Default Just another project!!

Well I went and picked up this 1204 today. Has great tins on it and everything else is in great shape to. The seat is junk, and as wih all my 82's when I get them the hood orniment is broke . But in general it's a very nice tractor. I'm going to swap the peerless out with the rear end from the parts 1806 so that should make a nice gear drive when I'm done. I need to locate a few of the clutch parts for it but I have Mike checking for me and I'll probably send an email to good old Rich to. I'm sure betweent he two it wont be long!

Here's one for ya Duke, I'm driving home and look in the rear view and to my surprise the seats gone. UH OH, so there's a rest stop just a mile away so I stop there, it's still in the bed but all the bolts are laying on the floor of my truck. Good thing I put a strap over the seat to keep it from bouncing around all the way home.

Eric that's nicer then you told me! My luck I would have taken out a Highway Patrol with the seat. You'll have your parts in no time!

Funny you said that, no sooner did I stop and check it out about another mile and there was an NY state cop in the middle. Thanks Duke check it out after a quick bath!

Notice my guard dog in the shot from the front. He sat there the entire time I cleaned it, never moved!

Nice find. I sure would like to know how you 2 down there are finding all these 82's. There is nothing to be had up this way, and when I do find one the owners think they are worth allot more then they are.

Nice find! And it cleaned up realy nice too! Be great to get it converted to a stiffer gear drive than the peerless. I say you need to find a mate to the ag tire on the front and matching ags for the rear!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
