Default LT1045 Hydro-Gear fluid change ?
I have a 2006 Cub LT1045 with a Hydro-Gear transmission. I [plan to change the fluid. I'm told Syn. 20w50 is the recommended oil, is this correct ?Do you fill it to the top of the fill plug hole for full ? What is the purpose of the plastic "reservoir" on top of the trans. ? Is it to be filled full also ? Any advice welcomed. -thank you

Yes that is the correct fluid for Your Hydro-Gear and the capacity is 79 fl. oz.

Do not put all 79 fl oz in at once put maybe 65 in and start checking dipstick for level , slowly continue adding a bit at a time always checking level
