Default My name is Steve, and I'm a Cub Cadet hoarder

Just picked this up this morning for a couple Ulysses S Grants. It runs good but smokes. I'm not sure if it's rings or sucking oil in the intake yet.

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. That's ok though as another one followed me home today too. You have nice one there.

OK, looks great for a good price! Now what is it, 682 with a cast rear, one of the lesser knowns with a K series? You may have gotten the buy of the week with this one.

Hi Steve!

I don't have a Cub problem. I can stop anytime I want. But I only have 2 and that's enough. Well... except this 122 I've been eying that has a rear blade... but hey, I don't have any with a lift, and rear blade would be very useful for my driveway.. Oh and a diesel 82 series would be nice. Well, and a zero turn for when I have my yard nice and level (you know with that rear blade)

But, I don't have a problem Like I said, I need them, they are useful..

It's an aluminum rear but I have a cast iron ready to put in it. It has a KT17.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
