Well I made it look nice...
I was having a grand ol time mowing the lawn yesterday. Feeling pretty spiffy with my shiny 127 when it started acting up. The engine started sounding stressed on slight inclines so I backed off the speed control until I was barely moving. I was moving at a pretty good clip for a while (trying to beat the weather) maybe it was starting to overheat? Also, I noticed a bit of a *clunk* going from forward to reverse. i know that wasn't there the past couple of times. I know I've got to check the fluid levels in the hydro.. ![]() |

Maybe the clunk is in the drive train, drive shaft.Check where it hooks to the engine and rear, past the flex disk on the rear.Maybe the roll pin has things wore out. When the engine sounded stressed did you notice any difference in speed,I supose you would being you stated you were on a slight incline, but did it sound stressed on the flats and did you notice any speed changes then. Yes check the fluid levels,How were they??Last time you did a filter change?? Last time you changed the fluid???Water in the fluid?? Just a few things I thought you might want to check........ ![]() ![]() Jason

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
