Default 1200 Clutch Rebuild Questions
I picked up a 1200 a few months ago in non-running condition, the previous owner did say the clutch was in need of replacement. As I've torn into it I've realized the clutch and driveline components likely failed due to worn engine mounts, in some cases they were all but gone!

I ordered new engine mounts, clutch friction disc, trued up the driver plates in a metal lathe (removed about .025" per plate), ordered a new teaser spring and am getting ready to start putting it back together.

I have a question on the clutch driver, the 3 pins on it currently are rusty and have swollen slightly because of that. I'd like to drill them out and replace them with new coiled spring pins. Does anyone have a part number or link for the pins? I have in my stockpile some 3/8" slotted roll pins and have considered using them instead, has anyone done with success?

The pins are NOT sold as a separate item. The whole clutch plate (new or used) needs to be replaced, with IH-117591-C1

Or, you can custom fabricate.

Thank you for the welcome! I've been lurking for a while, just didn't have a need to post until now.

I guess I didn't realize they pins weren't replaceable, was really hoping to not buy a new driver if I didn't have to. I already have well more in parts than what I paid for the tractor! Might see if Fastenal or another hardware supplier has the pins before I go the new driver route.

Fortunately, when I had to pull the engine from my 1989 1050 with the Kohler "K241" 10HP Magnum for an unrelated to the clutch matter, the solid pins for that clutch setup were available separately, and are threaded into the clutch driving disc. Mine were wore excessively. They were over $40 each from Cub. While the clutch setups are very similar in design, they share only a few identical parts.

The pins ARE replaceable. They are coil pins, You simply drive the old ones out with a punch and drive the new ones in.

I got them from Granger and I believe they were 5/16" diameter but I don't remember the length.
