Cub 73 PTO clutch stuck
I’m working on this 73 for a friend and the PTO clutch is stuck engaged. I can’t get it to pop out. Any tips or tricks? Or is it disassembly time?

Is it adjusted properly? I would try mowing with it disengaged and see if it breaks lose on it's own.

The adjustment was too tight, I loosened it up and there’s a good inch between the button and the lever. I mowed with it and it didn’t pop out. I can wiggle it side to side in the “teeth” but it’s not popping out to disengage.

The lever pushes on the button to disengage the PTO, it will never disengage is the lever is an inch away.

|
With the hand lever in the forward position adjust the rod until there about an 1/8" between the arm and the button on the PTO.

Maybe I need to read up on how these things work. I have never seen one before up close. I assumed with it forward and space released it.
