Default Finally got my #2 cart!

So... This last summer I found a cart on C-list up in Chicago. It just so happens that it was about 10 min from my brother who lives up there. I quickly got him to go pick it up as for the price it wasn't going to last long. Well, I was supposed to go pick it up from him, but life got in the way and plans kept falling through. My parents went up to visit and were supposed to bring it home, but the night before they left my bro tried to cut off the end of his finger with a knife while cutting up vegetables for supper.... so in that ordeal they forgot to load it. So.... finally at Thanksgiving, on my birthday, he brought it home with him. Happy Birthday to me!!

Pics cause I have it now!

Now for the questions.... Hopefully Nick the cart man will know....
I can't find a serial plate on it. With the decals, I'd say it is a late model, but I though all the later carts had serial tags on them? Soooo... should it have a tag? Or is it possibly a repaint with the wrong decals? It's in very good shape overall, but as you can see from the pics, it did sit out a while and rusted some in the back. Probably the front was tipped up as the hitch is perfect. I can get more pics if anyone wants any. I don't know how long I will use it as is, but I do want to repaint it and decal it with IH decals. I'll likely purchase a set of the new tires available from Miller Tire that are remakes of the original set that would have been on the older carts.

Cool, glad it's finally home. Should find a dog house to move with it and park it beside your new building that's on the trailer. Would be a funny pic.

Jon congrats on the #2 cart, that cart is in fact a later one manufactured after CCC bought out IH, kind of hard to find actually, it appears to be in original condition, looks to have the original wheel barrow type tires, I don't think it should have had a serial tag, although the later IH labeled ones did, hope this helps!

Nick did that later model still come with the now hard to find rubber bearing caps?

Looks good Jon. Btw does your brother now live in Illinois again? I thought his old profile said Maryland but now says Illinois?

As far as I know no they didn't, maybe I'll post some pics to show some slight differences between them throughout the years.

I'd like to see this as well. I picked up a repainted #2 cart a few years back but have no idea as to its age.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
