Default 3225 vacuum

Just picked up a 3225 in decent shape & 550 hours on it. Has a typical transmission leak which I am going to tackle when the temp isn't over 100. Few other issues though that I need help with and couldn't find so far. I picked this up for dirt cheap. Used to typical big box mowers, rebuilt many and sold many.

Vacuum diagram. Anyone have a diagram or better yet, pictures of the solenoid, hoses, etc? I have a couple of broken lines and I have a feeling I am missing something also. I can connect the line from the actuator to the line from the engine manually and run the deck.

Key - Any suggestions on a key? Hate to buy a new switch just to get a key.

Brake Padel - On every other mower I have had the brake pedal always returned itself. I could be missing a part but when pressing and releasing the pedal just stays, never returns. I have to put my foot behind the pedal and pull it forward to release it. Doesn't seem right.

I still need to get it cleaned up, washed, lubed, etc. All in all for the price of gas I have a good mower with a 54" deck, lug tires and a diff lock. Typically I fix things up and then sell them, but think I might keep this one for a few seasons.

Thanks

Here are some pictures of the lines as they currently are. The one going back along the frame to the rear has been cut very short and will need to be fixed.

Here is a pic of a 3165 that I had. It looks like the vacuum pick up going to the engine went on the port away from the wires and the one going to the actuator went on the port near the wires. It looks like you have the rubber connector with check valve for that end do you have it for the end at the actuator?

Here is a little better pick from a GT3100.

I've had the solenoids stick and not work also. You can take them apart and clean them. Just be careful because they can break.

I'm thinking you have a spring broken or missing for the brakes.

*****Read the manual on the differential lock. Never ever engage it with the wheels spinning.

Thanks for the pictures. Will dig into that tomorrow when I get the deck back on.

Spent tonight cleaning the underside of the deck and getting a new belt in. They sure don't make it easy in these.

I had read about the different lock. Already showed my son the right way to do it.

Does the line coming from the actuator to the solenoid also have a check valve?

What about the vacuum line the looks like it goes along the frame to the rear of the tractor, where does that connect?

No, there is only one check valve and it goes on the engine line. I'm thinking it is there so if the engine backfires it won't send a high pressure to the solenoid or actuator.

I'm not sure if there is a line that runs to the back of the machine. Can you post a pic of it?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
