I picked up my first Super this weekend, a 2182. It was a pretty long road trip to get it, but I got it and I am home.... finally!
It came with a 60" deck and a set of wheel weights. It also came with a 54" haban 401 dozer blade. I don't currently own a trailer, so we pulled the deck so the tractor would fit in my pickup. Thankfully I have a full size truck with a 8' bed. Once the tractor was in the bed, I didn't like how the deck was going to fit along the side and rub on the wheel weight, so I ended up pulling the weights also. Between the tractor, deck and dozer blade I dont think much else would have fit in the bed. I bought it from the orignal owners brother in law. it has 890 hours on it. Only one small crack in the plastic just above the exhaust, the guy put a small piece of sheet metal behind the crack with some sheet metal screws. Seems to be holding. No other cracks in the plastic. He let me mow part of his back yard for a test before I committed to buy it. Luckily my back was to him as I pulled away sitting on the tractor. I was all smiles as soon as I hit the seat, and gave it some throttle ![]() I'm really impressed with how it mows! The Kubota runs real smooth and quiet . After we pulled the deck before loading it I got under the tractor to check the rear end, all the bolts are tight and I did not see any cracked mounts. Real happy about that. Was hoping to get home before dark to get a few good pictures of it and the attachments. But it was a long trip. I got it unloaded and had to take it for a spin around the yard. Will try to get a few better pictures tomorrow. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
