Default 107 confusion?

Just picked up a 107. Dont know the history. Every pic i see online the 107's have the newer style rounded rear fenders. Mine have the flat style like my 102. The serial number on the rear is 279260. I cant seem to find this serial number associated with a 107? Any ideas??

Hard to tell upside down but I'd say it's a 105/125 based off the fenders and the style lift handle it has, also has the wrong PTO engagement handle for a 107.

I agree with Tim and Daniel..

It's a 105 or 125 that has been decaled wrong... Serial number checks out to be late 1968 or early 1969 105/125..

Good luck with it!!

The serial number puts it built in December 1968 with the 1X4/5 series (or at least that's when the tractor that the rear end came out of was made).

As the guys have already said, the pto handle is also wrong for a 107.

Can't tell from the picture if it has a 1X4/5 hood and dash or ones from a 1X6/7.

Weren't the serial numbers much different starting with the 1X6/7 series?

Also hard to tell if the hood has been changed- if it has an ornament or not.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
