I've got a couple of noisy spindles. These are the two outside spindles that the short blades operate on. I believe I have a 42 inch deck, although the plate is missing and I'm guessing based on blade lengths. I need to either get these repaired or replaced, depending on if they are the rebuildable type or not. Can someone dentify these and advise me what I have?

Those are rebuildable. remove the bolt in the center of the pulley and the pulley will come off, once the pulley is off you remove the key and then the shaft will slide out the bottom. Depending on rust it might be a pita but they're easy to work on.

Sure thing. Here's the deck.
If you measure this deck on top from one side to the other, it measures 48 inches.

That's a 38" or 42" deck.
The 48" spindles have a thicker casting just above the tin cup.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
