Default Hydraulics from hydro drive

Hey guys:

I'm new here so i didn't look around to see if this was a thread already if it is i apologize for repeating but i just got a IH cub cadet 1250 hydro drive and i want to put 3pt hitch on the back. I was wondering if i could hook a hydraulic line to the hydrostatic drive pump and still get enough psi to operate a 3pt hitch? I've got a little 12 by 14 foot garden plot that I'll be using it in with a cultivator that i made myself it probably only weighs about 50 pounds with the weight on it

Pfcsabre, Welcome ! I guess my first question is does your 1250 have a manual or hydraulic lift for your mower / blower ?

Agreed, hydraulic lift on a 1250 was an option, if you already have that, then all you need is a three point.

If you don't have a hydraulic lift, it makes things a little more difficult, but still doable. All my hydro Wide Frames have hydraulic lifts and three points, many of them didn't come to me that way.

Go to "Partstree.com" and look up your tractor, there you can find exploded views of the parts you may need.

If your hydro pump has two plugs on top(ported)you are golden, simply add in hydraulic lift. My 129 had the ported pump and I added hydraulic lift. I needed a valve, hnadle, cylinder and lines.

I thought all the ported pumps have the desired ports pointing towards the tractor front?

You can change the pump to a ported pump.... but you can't turn a non-ported pump into a ported.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
