It is a direct swap on a 108,with mods to the frame it will fit in a 126,but i would try to avoid doing that to the 126.

Welcome,Mr. Donald...
A 14 hp will not "fit" on a 126 without modifications. The flywheel on a 14 hp is larger than the original 12 hp and will not fit between the frame rails. A 14 will "fit" on 108. The 14 hp in question,, does it have a starter/generator or a gear starter ? If it is a gear starter, a few changes might be in order, mostly concerning wiring and the pto clutch.

Or you could put the small flywheel and housing on the 14 and it will fit......

I was thinking about this and wanted to ask a completely noob question. From what (little) I know at this point the weight of the flywheel helps with the torque of the engine correct? The weight of the flywheel spinning helps move the piston inside and then the explosion in the head continues the process over and over. If you put a flywheel from a 12 on a 14 are you actually making the engine less strong? So are you kind of ending up with a 13hp engine (no math being used here just trying to use a point)? What is the end result (besides the engine fitting in this frame) when it comes to power after doing this? If the poster can fit a 12 in and the 14 with a smaller flywheel equals less power (again still not sure if this is even the case so asking) is it even worth it? This is more for a learning thing for me. The poster asked if he could fit a 14 into his frame and you folks offered him a way to do this so that all makes sense to me. Just looking to learn what actually happens to the engine after this change has been made.

Just for the sake of argument...
If you put a 14 HP flywheel on a 7 hp engine, do you get 10.5 HP?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
