The 3184 I got recently, came with the hydraulic angling kit, front mount and the 54 inch dozer blade.
Guy gave me a bag of parts and rambled something about the repair place telling him he needed $400 worth of 'hydraulics' to make it work. Seriously that's all I have right now. So out of the parts.. I have the blade, front mount and angling kit are all intact. I have 4 hard lines with a gusset mount that runs along the outside of the frame. I have two valve units, one is missing the little part that you bolt the handle to. And assorting nuts and bolts. So to me aside form the nuts/bolts, I will either be able to raise/lower or adjust the angling but not both since the second valve unit it missing that lever part. If that's the case then I'm wondering if the deck lift/lower valve can be re-used for the angling without hurting anything. |

How about some pics of what you have.
Are you asking for help installing it? Finding the missing parts...... or just telling us about your purchase? If it is missing parts, I'm sure that they can be easily obtained. If you need instructions on how to assemble it, then those can most likely be found also. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

More like opinions i guess.. I was sitting at work when i was typing the OP up and had forgotten something. the correct number of hydraulic valves is three.. I have three. One of which is missing the lever part that articulates the valve opening and shutting.
I assume I am correct in thinking that I only need two.. one for the blade angle, and one for the front hitch up and down movement. IDK honestly.. its at my land lords house where I dropped it off when I picked up his Toro to investigate the transaxle issue. I'm so anxious about getting it back and starting to work on it with the blade that I can't stand it. And here I'm calling him nasty names because he's so bloody slow at getting the replacement parts for his craptastic Toro... lol. This is my first GT.. my previous and still current mower is a 2000 'Bolens' (MTD) LT with a 17 horse Briggs. So upgrading to power steering and deck height I was spoiled and I've only mowed once with it. I'm sure at least a few folks here can sympathize.. I don't know how much longer I can wait to get her back to her new home. |

IIRC, you should have 3 valves. Deck lift, plow lift & plow angle. Are you missing the lever that comes up through the fender pan or the lever that mounts above the valve like the silver part here.
DSCN0182.jpg Do you have the manuals for the plow kit?

I downloaded the angle kit install guide and the plow manual/guide. I am missing that silver part on one valve. But as it sits right now I have the deck lift valve on the tractor, and then these three on my bench.
I also have 4 bolts that are long enough to bolt together three valves. Can these valve go bad or break internally as to not work? Tonight I fully disassembled the angle kit, the bolt that hold the left/right angle cylinder shaft was bent almost an inch. Looking it was the original grade 8 bolt too. Silly question but should I be able to depress the shaft into one of the cylinders with it off and unhooked? |

I think that part is still available from Cub or try one of the sponsors at the top of the page.
Yes, the valves can leak but they are easy to rebuild. I have not done one yet but here is what you will need. I think these are the same on the Cyclops machines too. http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/120/3508/=tqvbnh If your going to keep the deck lift in place you will need to add the forth valve on the other side of the machine and cut the fender pan. This link may help. http://www.mytractorforum.com/showth...th+spool+valve I would think if you have both lines off the cylinder you should be able to push it in and out. Good luck in the repairs. We need some pictures. ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
