104 no power under load
Hi guys, searched forum and found some helpful info, but still have few questions.
i just got a late 60's 104, would start and run but not for long. so i put in a new air cleaner, changed oil, filed points and re gapped, cleaned and adjusted carb, tightened head bolts, checked timing, made a new intake gasket(old one was half missing). it starts and runs, sounds good, but as soon as you engage mover deck or put it in first it, it bogs down and will die. the governor doesn't have a spring attached to it so i think that's the problem. i don't see and info on the spring in the service manual that came with it. anyone have a pic of how the spring attaches and are new springs still available?

 Yes, new springs are available. You can get them from Kohler, Cub Cadet, online or whatever. Go to the technical section on this site and download a manual. It tells you how and where to install the spring, and what all the different holes are for. If you have trouble finding the service manual, I can post a link.

I don't have a 104, so I'm not exactly sure about the governor linkage, but here's what the 123 looks like...
