hey guys so im in the process of taking the 1450 all apart and repainting it, its getting new decals and a sleeve hitch plus I bought a cultivator to put on the back of it. I got a couple things that I need to do to it while its apart, I need to rebuild the steering box cause its got a 1/4 wheel of play in it, I also have to find out why my engine shakes so much. I noticed that the cradle bolts that go into the engine seemed loose like stripped out. can I drill and tap them bigger or what ?. Any way heres some pics, let me know what you guys think.
heres what it looked like a day ago ![]() and what it looks like after 4-5 hours of work ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looks like your project is well underway. I was going to suggest that you make sure all of the mechanical work is done on the cub before you break it down for your restoration, but that is a moot point now. Can't wait to see your after pictures!!
BTW: That buckle adds new meaning to the term "buckle up"!! Looks great. Cub Cadet 123

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
