Hi guys. Found your great forum while I was searching for a solution.

A friend has bought a new ride-on and said he would sell me the old one for $1000 AUD. (LT 1018-13AL11CG710 with a Briggs engine). When I arrived to pick it up, it would not start. We found there was no fuel getting to the carby. I checked the input line to the pulse type fuel pump & the fuel was getting to there O.K.

We figured it must be the diaphragm. So I decided to take it home and work on it today. The diaphragm looked fine but I couldn't feel any pulsing at the line while cranking the engine. I cleaned the top of the dipstick hole and blew smoke down into the crank case. Then I removed some covers & the throttle bracket-control & found this hole above the oil filter!

What would have caused this? Has the big end let go inside and punched the hole?

I was wondering if any of you guys have seen this before?

does oil or air blow from the hole? the bits in your hand look to be a little thin. looks like a thin area in the casting.
