Congratulation for your find!

I just start restoring a 1650 myself and I notice you don't have the original front axle and knuckles assembly on your 1450, I just wish someone can tell you what model Cub this one come from. Your front end look higher (about 2 inch?) and I like those narrow 4.00x8 wheels! I try to find a NOS set like yours but I only found a set of NOS 5.38x 8 so my choice in tires is limited to Firestone 3 ribs or Vredestein 5 ribs V61.

You never know what kind of snake is hiding under a rock but trying to make everything functional is the first goal, cosmetic is the second one in my book. Look like there is a lot of good fellow’s on this forum sharing their knowledge and since they are all Cub cadet lover you can bet they are there to save one from the junkyard.

Wish you good luck

Thanks, Ive owned the tractor for 5 years and have been bugging my dad to let me paint it for 4 of them. Finally when my engine began smoking and my transmition lost almost all power my dad agreed to let me paint it and do a full restoration.

Looks like a narrow frame pulling front axle. Had one on my 122. Looks like the spindles were raised instead of lowered.
The front axel is out of an old noma lawn tractor, It is put in so I can squeeze into a lower weight class for tractor pulling. plus the tractor is sitting high because the the only way the axel could fit into the tractor was to put it in upside down and turn the spindalls around.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
