Original S/N #1 For Sale?
Guys, check this out.
This guy from Howell, MI claims he has the first Cub ever built. Supposedly, he just learned this from a repair shop that told him it was a valuable collectors item, and he's looking to see what he can get for it (no price listed.) I don't know if this is for real or not. And I didn't post it in the Craigslist or Ebay deals section because it's more about the significance of #1 being found (if true.) http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/clt/3045317913.html

There are no pics, so we don't know. The first O had the SN 590. He could have an O from 61 to 63. I wonder what the SN of the tractor is?

I highly doubt it is the first one. I think the first one is in a mueseum somewhere.

501 was the first serial number, so the seller doesn't know what he's talking about. IIRC, 501-589 were test units distributed around the country, and 501 went to Florida. 590 is the first production unit.

Really makes you wonder about some people. So you have the supposedly first O built. You put an add up on CL with a general "cub cadet for sale" in the title. No pics, "a mechanic told me I have the holy grail", "I entertain all offers and want the most I can get"
 . Probably was looking at the casting number. I agree with everyone else, we need pics and a serial number.
