Cool The 71

I picked this 71 over the weekend. It has some PO mods on it like the switch and push button starter.S/G was wired wrong, but it charges now that I got it running. It has some issues mainly heavy rust...but it does have a creeper...

Lew, Congrats! It's a little hard on the eyes but I'm sure once you get done with it it'll be in better shape.

Default Ah....

.... being a sucker for such strays and lost puppies, I like it. It's got character (and it's very cool that it RUNS!) . Does it move and stop too?

Congrats...great little cub. Will it fit in a flat rate box?

John

Looks pretty complete and good to hear it runs.

I've been trying to find the correct word to describe it, patina ( the PTO has extra patina )

I just hate it when someone steals the engine. Looks like they took out the clutch and drive shaft too. Man that sucks. You gotta get out of NJ.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
