Default #1 cart questions

Over the winter, I'm going to start my first restoration project on a low 4 digit cub. I'm going to try to keep everything intact for a correct restoration. I also have another 4 digit for parts. So I'm thinking of trying to find a #1 cart to restore as well. Hopefully with in a year, I can take both to shows. My question is, what is one going to cost before I restore or what would one cost me already restored? I don't see many for sale, so I don't know how to gauge the pricing.
Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

That's a hard one to answer. Pricing is based on condition and location. Have you called the site sponsers to see if they have any? Or maybe a want ad and see if anyone is willing to part with theirs.

As Duke said, pricing on anything Cub cadet depends on location in the USA, condition, rarity and so on. With that said, You could be looking at anything from maybe $300 down, starting with a trailer in very good condition.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Everybody here seems to bring a level of knowledge and I wanted some good info and opinions.
Thanks

I think I sold one of my #1 carts for $500. Here is a pic of it. The other is not for sale.

lawnguy,
Not a cart guy yet but will watch to see how you make out on the purchase and restoration of a #1.

shultzie,
I could swear that cart is in the living room? Maybe just seeing things from being in the woods for two days looking at the back side of maples. That's a nice cart! Maybe I should go look at one!
Regards,
Chris

I was thinking of calling them to see what they have, or getting any info. I found one that I might be able to get for 250-300. It needs work but not rusted up. My friend owns a body shop and would help me. Also someone on eBay is selling 4 carts ( #s 1,2,3&4) for 2400. All are restored but one. I don't know what a #1 cart would go for restored, at those prices, I have more elbow grease than money for that. And if it ends up that my restored cart cost the same as buying one, I would have great satisfaction on restoring my o and it's cart.

Those carts have been on eBay for a long time now. One for $250 not rusted out would be good and you have your body man to help you out. Sounds like a good plan!

I got mine for $80, not too bad of a deal but it'll need work. You can see it in this thread.

I know where there is a nice #3, I was going to buy it just to blast/repaint and sell but at the end I don't know what it's worth either.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
