Default Key Switch

Here is the final touch to my 3 digit recoil O!! A NOS single post key switch. Was looking for one at Red Power this year and the vendors looked at me like I was nuts and said “you will never find one of those" Then it came to me...Patton...the end.

Hey, that's cool! I wasn't aware they were single post ign switches..... Does the post ground to the base? I don't really know how else it would work....

Yes, when using these switches one has to make sure that the Key Switch Housing is mounted to bare metal. That there is a good path to ground in the Tower and frame to the Battery Negative Terminal.

Cool finish product for a restoration. So what's the story with the tag? Used to be owned by a college to mow the campus grounds?

I understand the tag is from the dealer in which the tractor was sold. Collegeville Equipment Co. in Collegeville, PA. The number on the tag would be a number to identify the tractor and any information that would of been recorded on it. To the best of my knowledge the dealer is no longer in business (I think the dealer is now an equipment rental place) Also any records that did exist on this tractor have been lost.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
