My 1811 is in the process of getting the puller wheels and tires. I got the douglas polished front wheels. The bearings they sent me were 3/4". They did not work. What size spindle is on an 1811 on the front? Also, will the aluminum hubs they sent me accept either size? If I know whay size is on it, I can tell them for sure tomorrow when I call them. Thanks, Jason

If the 3/4" bearings were too small, then you have 1" spindles.

Got a 3/4 and a 1 inch open end wrench? See which one slides snugly over the spindle shaft... that's the size of your spindle.

Well the Dougls wheels i got came with 3/4...... I wonder if the 1 inch bearngs will fit in the hubs of the new wheels. Worse comes to worse, couldn't i use the bushings that go onto an old CC original? i think they werwe 1 inch as well. The spindle hud that came with the aluminum Douglas wheels came with 3/4. The hole that the bearng seats in looks like it might not fit the next bigger size in it. Hmmmm. Any thoughts? I know i have seen these 8 inch wheels on the 682/782/1811 type of tractor.

Get yourself a set of early wide frame spindles they are 3/4". All you have to do is switch the spindle's and your good to go. That's what I did on the 1282. Very easy and if you want to put it back to original switch it back. Check with Rich or Chris, at the top of the page they should have them. I don't know where your at in PA but if your close to Rich you can go to his place and pick them up and save on shipping.

What early models should I look for to swap the spindles? After talking to the wheel dealer, I don't think I can use my 1 inch ones.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT Here's a set on epay. I'm not sure what all models had the 3/4" spindle's. The 1000, 1100, 1200, pretty sure the one's from an, 86, 108, 109, 128, 129, 149, and 169 will work. I'm sure if they don't someone with more knowledge of them will chime in. The one's in the epay listing say their from a 1250 but I thought they were 1" but I'm not sure. I don't mess around with the 1x9 or quiet lines much so I hope this info. isn't to far off. If you call Rich or Chris and tell them you need a set of 3/4" spindle's for a wide frame, I'm sure they will hook you up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
