Default Parts Donor

Well I found this 1806 yesterday. Went and picked it up today, It's been sitting for several years. The clutch went big time and the guy though the motor went so he parked it. The tins are in good shape just faded from sitting outside in the sun. The tractor has 502 hours on it. I had a little time so I checked compression and it has lots of compression. The clutch is completly distroyed. But I don't care about that. This one is going to be a donor for the 784 the 18 mag is going in it, I'm going to change the harness and everything into 784 so it should be an easy swap. It has a aluminum creeper, that's headed for the 582 . And it has a very well built homemade spring assist on it, which will find it's way onto the 1282 someday. The tins are nice and the seat is in good shape. I should have everything I need to breath life back into the 784. Going to try to get it running later after baseball practice. I'll let you guys know what I make out. Oh yea $300 bucks with a 50" deck

Nice find, That is only the 3rd 1806 I have seen. If the dash is nice I would be interested in it, if you don't have plans for it already. The one on mine is pretty bad.

Eric, you're going at it the wrong way! What you NEED to do is put the 1806 driveline in the 582 with a stiffer clutch spring and then you'll really have something. just keep the cast rearend in it.

AJ

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
