Default are they worth $450

Need your help. A guy up here has a 127, motor smokes he said it seems to clear up when it get's warmed up. I'm sure it needs work. Works out good, moves without any problems. It has a 42" deck, no holes and works free. The tin on the tractor is rusty, with dings.
The other tractor is a 125, with good tin, no motor!
And there is a 42" blower that he said is in good shape other than surface rust. Is this a good price for the package?
Thanks,

Yes sir! The whole works.
I'm going to look at them in the morning, but wanted some feed back first, being there in the condition there in. I don't know what the QA blower would be worth alone. Do you.
Thanks

Thanks Bill, I'll look at it tomorrow and see how bad they really are, and if I really need them. What am I saying?

Todd,

It sounds like it is worth it to me. Of course pictures would help in the decision. As a rough rule of thumb, I look at what things would be if I was to sell each item off and then I see what is left after that, which would be considered "free". The blade would sell for about $100, the blower for about $150, the 125 roller would bring about $100-$125, the deck for about $75-$100. So, the 127 is the "free" item if you had to justify your purchase. Ultimately, it is your decision. Lots of luck your your negotiations and possible future purchase!!!

Checked out the goods this morning. Not what I was picturing by no means. The 125 was nothing more than a frame and hydro with the hood, no rear wheels. The 127 was rough to say the least. (rough) the QA 42 was in good condition.
I put in my best price but we couldn't come together so I'm home empty and he still has the tractors and blower.
Thanks to everyone for their 2 cents.

Sorry to hear it wasn't what ya expected and you weren't able to hammer out a deal. Some of the best deals are the ones you have to walk away from. Don't ask me how I know that.

Don't worry, there's a lot more deals out there to be found. You'll find more than you know what to do with before you know it

Sometimes, when a deal isn't quite what I had in mind, I will offer what I believe is my best price and if they refuse, I will leave my name and contact information with them just in case they change their mind. Sometimes it pays off with a return phone call--once they have sat on the items for a while without any other offers, and sometimes you have to walk away. May more offers find their way to you when the time and price is right....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
