Default How to?

I decided to replacing some of the broken, and or not correct parts on my 149, the hydro fan was well lacking more then most of the blades, like had two half inch blades left so decide to replace it. After applying PB blaster for four days, tried to remove the pins on the shaft, that was not happening, so I decided to remove the shaft by basically pulling the rear end of the tractor off, (yes i know not the right way of doing it but it worked.) now I still can not get the pin out if the shaft, tried just about everything I could think of. just wondering if anyone had any other idea?

Maybe not the correct or easy way, but can you put a deep socket on one side and use a large c-clamp to start it moving? Once you get it to move, the correct punch should work from there. Haven't had to do this, just an idea.

You're probably going to have to lay the shaft across something heavy (heavy enough to beat on) with a hole in it for the pin to go into and SMACK the pin with a hammer to drive it out. Probably should wear some glasses, the pin is hard and may shatter.

Then you'll want to get a new pin from one of our fine sponsors or your local dealer.

If it's a roll pin, you might try grinding the top of the pin down flush with the shaft, then use a pointed punch and hit it with a big hammer several times to get it moving.
The point will keep the punch from coming off the pin. Once it's driven into the shaft a little ways, go to a regular pin punch.
This worked for me recently on a tough one.

I gave up and ordered a new shaft, now i can resort to more aggressive mean to remove the pin. without worrying about messing up the shaft. now i just can't let it win.

Thought about just drilling it out with a good bit?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
