Default Little Brother Comes Home.

Well Its Super Bowl Sunday and my 127's little brother the 73 came home. Just put a new battery in and fired right up. It has a .030 over piston, fresh rebuild. steering is pretty tight and the tires are all excellent. Need to figure how to put the chains on.

I think that you will enjoy that 73 a lot. I plowed 4" of snow and about 3" of ice yesterday with my 73 and it did not disappoint. I didn't have any chains to put on it, though....kind of wish I had but if it got stuck, I just picked it up and got it out. The 73 is light enough where you can do that, unlike the other cubs that followed. Enjoy!!

Default Thanks

thanks for the compliments. I got the 73 from a friend of mine. He was toying with selling it and we finally struck a deal. It was a little pricey, but its in very good shape, and the motor is already done. So I figured why not !!! I put a battery in it and was driving around with no hiccups. Good stuff. gear trans is a little to get used to. still think i like the hydro better !! But this is just in such good shape I had to have it

Jay your 73 is very nice! I'm still digging those true powers on your 127. Those 73's are getting hard to find, you've got a keeper there for sure.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
