Default Disapointing day today :(

Well I got the call this morning saying my 169 was at the shop waiting for me to come pick it up. I jumped out of bed, got the trailer hooked up and headed to town. Pulled into the shop lot and saw the Tractor sitting on his trailer. I knew when I saw the stripe colors on the hood something was wrong. Also noticed that there were no headlights and no hour meter on the flywheel shroud. As Mr. Bishop and I were looking it over, I popped the hood and counted head bolts... "NINE!" bolts Serial number for the tractor was gone. Finally located some numbers on the engine.. K301!! DANG!! From what we could tell it was a 129 with hydro lift. Still not bad but not the 169 I was wanting. It had issues and in my mind that is still not the tractor I saw years ago, but time and age play tricks, who knows. In the end I declined the 129 but, he did let me remove the rear 3 point for $50. I now have a three point for my 782, just have to get the lift rod for it and will be finished. So was not a great day, but didn't end completely bad. Such is life, take what comes and move on..

I was able to get the 3 point primered and painted today to be installed on the 784. The pictures are cell phone pics and color is off but everything looks great. Will let them sit for a couple of days and cure then install.

Frankenstein bolts and nuts all painted up too

You'll have to make use of that 3pt on March 19th. There's a plowday here in Georgetown.

I thought about it, but something just told me to wait it out. And on another note, it will allow me to get some more done to the 128. A nice 169 or 149 will show up when the time is right.

That's a bummer about the 169, but your right about waiting. The right one will come along. Great deal on the 3 point! Your paint looks great, can't wait to see it on the tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
