Hello i am new to only cub cadets forum. I own a cub cadet 1210 hydro. I bought it a year ago and was told that will need motor mounts soon. So I noticed about a month ago that it was starting to vibrate more than normal. So I went to my cub cadet dealer and got motor mounts. I put them in and started it up to find that the vibration got worse than it was before. Can anyone help?

I'm thinking that you over tightened the motor mounts when you installed them. Got pics of your motor mounts?

You may want to check your driveline. Make sure your drive shaft [#12] is true. Look at your Flex Disc Couplers [#9] to see if they are intact, out of alignment, or distorted. Then check your bushings [#8 & #13] to see if they are wollered out.

If you followed the instructions that came with the motor mounts, you have them too tight. Only one thread on the bolt should be showing on the locknut.

I had a guy that worked on cub cadets for years and that I take mine to when I run into a problem like this. He said that everything was right and that he talked to three different cub cadet dealers and they said cub cadet is making the motor mounts out of a harder rubber than before. We did take the drive shaft out and the bearing on back of the engine and replace both thinking that would help, but it didnt.

I do NOT use the "number of threads" showing on the bolt procedure nor use a torque spec. I use NyLock nuts and I tighten the nut until the bushings are just snug. It works for me.

I will try that and see what happens. The vibration is happening when the tractor itself is running. I do not have the mower deck or any other attachment on. I am getting ready for winter and took they mower deck off.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
