Default Engine mounts
Anyone know the torque for the rubber mounts on the 82 series diesels? I can't find anything in both manuals I looked at. Mine seemed way too tight so I backed them off a little but I don't want to get them too loose.

I don't ever recall seeing a torque specification on these bolts.

For me, I use "nylock" nuts and I tighten to the point where the bushings are just snug and call it good. Never had a problem with this procedure.

I have seen procedures with reference to the amount of threads showing.

i bought some engine mounts for my 1450 and the flyer in the bag said to torque to 8ft lbs, hope this helps

Disregard the instructions that came with it...tighten so that 1 thread protrudes through the nylock nut. You can't really accurately torque a locknut.

You should still get a torque wrench for head gaskets, rear cover gaskets, hydro pump mounting bolts, etc. though if you plan on ever touching any of that stuff...
