Hi all,
Having a heck of a time trying to get my clutch right. I replaced all of the springs, bearing and disc as well as the yoke bracket and pin. No matter where I put the clutch adjustment nut I can't get a good pedal. It catches all of the way at the bottom when I'm pressing down the pedal. Two questions: what am I doing wrong and where should the pedal catch? Near the top? Half way down? This is frustrating the heck out of me. Getting ready to throw a match on it and roll it down the hill, lol. Thanks for any help |

Catches all the way at the bottom when you depress the pedal? That sounds backwards as if you were to engage..... When you depress the pedal it is suppose to catch. Pictures?

should be about 1/4" free play in the pedal before the clutch engages
The brakes should start engaging about 2/3rds of the way down Check the manual for your tractor |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
