Default K321 cam cover gasket reuse?
I think my cam cover/dipstick cover was leaking a bit on K321. I removed it. it was very loosely attached and it came off the gasket clean, no material on the cover.

The rubber(?) gasket material is still firmly affixed to the block.

Im wondering if I should add oil reistant RTV on the cover and reapply it. Can the gasket be reused in this case?

Yes, but use the RTV with a very thin coat, thickness of paper.

Thanks for the tip.

The cover was approx handtight, maybe a little more.. There wasnt a trace of gasket on the cover.

If you are going to reuse the gasket and add silly kone to it, do yer self a favor and clean things up first with lacquer thinner, brake clean or gas.
silly kone snot will not stick to any oil contamination what-so-ever.
surfaces have to be clean and dry,
