Default New guy here with a CC 100

Hi. I recently found a 1964 100 that was way too cool to pass up. Not new to garden tractors or Cub cadets. This is my first older cub cadet.

Bought it non running for just $100. Took it home cleaned the points and put fresh gas in it and it's a great runner.

Decided to start tearing it down, repairing and replacing everything that needs it along the way. Then decided I couldn't put it back without new paint. So now it's getting new paint. Fun project. Should be a nice show tractor when done.

While I waited for the paint on the grill to dry. I pulled the engine out.

I took a grinder to the grill and cleaned up the casting. Put a but of bondo on it too. Looks better than new now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
