The 82 Series Cub Cadets
 This is my first thread I'm posting and I'm looking on gathering information on the 82 series cub cadets. I'm looking at starting getting my own collection going here soon starting at 182 all the way to the 982 and I just want to know more about them and see some of the things you guys have done to them. I know some are particular weather IH made them or not but I'm not to bothered by that. I'm looking for restoration pictures, modifications, homemade accessories, it doesn't matter. I'm looking at a few models already but if you know where one is that is just sitting let me know. I'm from MN and I don't mind a reasonable trip. Cant wait to see what you all post and ill be posting pictures as I start rounding them up. Enjoy the forum!

The 182, 282, 382, and 482 Lawn Tractors are not very popular and thus hard to find. The rest is no problem.

The 382 was a fabulous machine for small yards--pretty sure it was hydro and gear drive, your choice. If you were a tall guy, the seat needed to be raise up a bit. At the time that was IH's answer to a dime store Murray.
982 if you have one you probably suffer from Tim Allen syndrome  . Nothing like the sound of that Onan barking.6 and 782--forerunners of the finest Cadets ever built (1810 and 11), well that's my opinion. Seriously, these 2 could handle the needs of MOST users. Very unusual to find one with the original Series 1 KT-17 Kohler--most of them blew up--tons of info on this, just search online. Don't think you're going to buy one with a thrown rod and fix it for $100. 582--hold out for the diehards that loved the old 3 speed Cub tractor rear end. May have had a single cylinder Kohler, don't remember. Don't confuse this with the harder to find 582 Special. Hopefully the above is correct, going by memory. Here are some I have or have had

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
