Hello all. Tractor wont even turn over its ackting like i dont have the brake pushed in. I was wondering how to check if its one of the switches for the brake or seat? Any one have any ideas? Is there a way to bypass the safety switches? Thanks for any help guys!

I beleve the switches connect the circut if thats the case its not the safety switches. Can u tell me where the starter is? Or any other ideas?

When I got my 2072 there was issues with both safety switches and the key switch. The seat switch was stuck in the compressed position so it was always giving the "OK". The spring tab that compresses the start switch had broken off--I had to get a used one as it is no longer available from Cadet. The ignition switch kept momentarily losing contact while it was running. It got hot enough to melt the terminal block on the wiring harness. Checking the safety switches with your voltmeter is pretty simple, then make sure whatever is mechanicaly compressing them is working correct.

I just went through this exact same problem and it turned out to be the 20 amp fuse holder. I went through all of the safety devices and jumped each one in turn and that did not cure the problem. Then I jumped the positive 12 v wire from the battery to the solenoid and it started immediately so I knew it was not the starter or the solenoid. Knowing all of that I took the ignition switch and ran over it with an ohm meter and every thing worked properly. That only left the short bit of circuit behind the panel where the fuse is wired. I used a volt meter on both sides of the holder and one side was 12v and the other side was 6 v. The removable piece of the fuse holder was corroded and after a good cleaning it started right up. I had the same issue with the reverse PTO cutout switch last month and once I bypassed it that cured that problem. Jump the solenoid first to make sure it is good because doing all of the other stuff first will not help if it is bad. Good luck.
