Ive noticed that the hydraulic lift lever is bent and need to remove it to replace it with a good one from a parts tractor. A couple of questions.....watch the video below because I’m wondering if it should move in and out like it does. I’m thinking something is broken or missing from when it got bent. Secondly, how do you remove/install this lever?

See attached image.
(A) Remove Linkage #5 from lever #4. It is like a chain retainer, it is split. (B) Remove the tightening bolt from #4 lever. (C) Slightly spread the gap in the back of #4 Lever (D) Handle #6 should pull right out.

Can’t figure out how to remove that “chain retainer”. Mine doesn’t look to be split. Also that clamp on the shaft sure is a bugger to get to

Simple...
It's moving back and forth because the steering tube grommet is not in place, and the valve spool is bolted to that tube. The link the hooks the lift arm to the valve spool is nothing more than a chain repair link. The IS a keeper on one side. IF it is missing, the link it was to hold in place, must be stuck/rusted to the rest of the link |

Its a long 'U' shaped affair with one end open/split.
You may have to root around in there with a small wire brush and a pick to get rid of the crud to see and find the slotted/split end. It's not a very big split, be lucky to get a matchbook cover in it. A sharp pointed screw driver will usually do the trick getting it open and up over the slot in the link pin. |

It's real skinny, smaller width wise than the link cap itself.
Should be really evident. Could be on either side as you look at it. Hell, it may even be gone, in which case you will/should be able to see the tiny grooves it snaps into on the ends of the pins. If so, that's the side of the link that come off, stick your flat screw driver in there and give it a twist, forcing the 2 sides apart, it should pop off, then you can pull the link from the spool and the arm. |

looks like this ,I went down through dash somewhere or had gas tank out of way and used a long screw driver to drive it off and I think I remember a roll pin somewhere on that shaft that needs to come out before it will pull out of dash ? It's a #2050 connecting link tractor supply has them for a buck or two

Second thought the roll pin is on the pto cross shaft,miserable to get at !
