Default CC 100 factory horn??

I'm looking at buying a 100. it's got the mower deck and all. but he mentioned it has a horn thats factory and was a rare option. was a horn an option for the 100? is 300 a fair price for it? its in good shape and runs. but doesn't have fenders, but does have headlights.

Hmmmm...horn? What's that used for on a lawn tractor....to tell the dog or cat to get off the lawn? Most people just let out a loud roar followed by a few curse words! :biggrin2.gif:

I've never seen that in any brochure or in person. You can't believe everything you hear.

Ive never heard or seen of one either for Cub Cadet, but I have seen them on Farmall Cub's...and I believe they were an option for them..so maybe a IH dealer sold one or installed one on a Cub Cadet?

I remember a horn on a 128 CC when my dad would take me to his IH Plant in Hinsdale IL. when I was a kid. I believe it was required on moving vehicles on industrial sites. Rare option for sure

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
