Any of you guys run I to this situation ? I tried adjusting the throttle cable but that doesn't do anything. When I throttle her up the throttle lever slowly backs down and to keep it at wot I have to hold the throttle up, it gets old. This is on my cub 125.

There is a friction adjustment on the throttle lever, tighten the nut and it will be fine.

Do you by chance have a manual reference for this ? I looked around for a friction nut in there and couldn't find one if I saw it in a manual it would help. I skimmed through the manual and couldn't find it. Just the speed control adjustment.

I don't have a picture of one handy. Here's a link to the parts. If I remember, you "should" be able to look up under the dash and see the throttle lever (control) and the bolt that goes through it, tighten it up.

I found a picture of one on ebay. On this example, you tighten the phillips screw to keep the throttle from "drifting".

You're welcome
![]() I have a short 90 degree ( offset ) screwdriver that works well for that adjustment. |

I went out to the garage and saw that screw but I was wondering how I'm going to get to it with our tearing the consol apart

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
