Default GT 2544 forward reverse
I just bought a 2008 GT2544 with 100 hours. Always inside and clean. When I got it home i noticed 2 things of concern. First when I took my foot off forward peddle the machine continued to slowly creep forward until I pushed the reverse peddle. Second when I pushed the reverse peddle it would hardly move backwards. After mowing 15 minutes or so the reverse action was noticeably faster. I have a GT 2550 that responds as it should. Any help would be appreciated.

I will let you know, right up front. I have NO experience with your model.

BUT...if this were mine, the first place I would look is at the "linkage" that controls the Hydro Unit. It "sounds" like something is not adjusted right.

p.s. The manual for either the Gt2550 or 2544 explains how to adjust the hydrostatic controls to eliminate your problems
do not have a manual go to the Cub Cadet website and download one

I used to buy apples from a lady peddler, I called her
"apple Annie" but I didn't meddle in her business.
