I picked up a can of OEM white and Yellow today. Up until now I have been using up the Valspar I bought at tractor supply before they stopped selling it. Both the white and the yellow were close but still off a little. I guess not bad if you paint an entire panel or tractor But as for touch up not really good. I use an airbrush to touch up and I have to say the OEM is dead on. I was worried at $15.00 a can but for what I am doing I think well worth it. If I was doing an entire tractor I might not want to spend that much but then again I would not use rattle cans. I do have a spray gun and I guess you could buy a quart of OEM and thin it. I have never been brave enough to try. I have no idea how to set the gun up and how to thin the paint I am sure it is second nature for a lot of you guys. 70 today 40 and rain tomorrow

Heck yeah OEM paint is great. I bought a quart of IH white from a Case IH dealer a few years ago and apart from spilling it everywhere last month it is still going strong. I painted a 42" blade with it and use it for touch up.

I had awful luck with the OEM IH paint although I have heard from numerous sources that it IS the same as that Valspar that TSC used to sell only with a different label. I dont know what ios different about it but I have used the Valspar tractor and equipment Enamel before many times with success but that Iron Gard was horrible.
I hear bad things about the Majik line of paint but after my exp. with the OEM crap, I think I will take my chances with the Majik, can't be much worse than what I experienced.... in fact the next time I do a Cub I think I will go to the local auto parts store/paint mixer and have them mix me up some automotive grade single stage enamel and give that a whirl.... I have a 129 for sure to do and I might redo this 1200 I have too, not made my mind upo on that one yet |

Charles, I painted one full tractor with it, fenders, and side panels of others, and it held up great. But it's the mix and paint with reducer and hardner. Mow around conifers, and get scratches, but it's still all there. The wife occasionally spills a little fuel, and wipe it off without issue.
![]() I've used their rattle can on a few small things, it drys slow, but has a good color match, but can't comment on it's durability. Last time I used the rattle can was on my 782 weights, paints still on, but haven't used it in the dirt yet. ![]()

Basically I am only commenting on color match since I am only touching up scratches. Seemed to dry pretty fast and cover well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
