Default Controversy

I stated that this was the rarest attachment ever offered by IH and I'm still looking for documentation but I may be closer.

I've since cleaned it up and found this-

Which led me here-
http://www.commandcontrols.com/about.htm

Read ''Founder" in the middle of the page.

I'll contact Connie at Command Control next week but any further help here would be great.

Oh sorry, I was getting this posted as we were leaving and I rushed.

It's a power steering unit for the "82" series cubs.

did you ever have the shop rebuild it? I thought I read something about you needing to provide them with a parts manual or something first. How bad was it wanting to steer to one direction if u take your hand off the wheel. I wish I could afford it, it would go well with my 782.

Adrian: Take a good look at the photo's...How many Yellow/White 82 Series Cub Cadets do you think IH built?? Want to try NONE on for size...It's more likely CCC, if Cub Cadet (under any ownership) or dealer actually installed that...I've got some pretty good records in the library and, while it is an interesting item, tisn't to be found in any documentation that I have......

Yes at full throttle and at full speed on pavement it would want to turn left at the time. Since I took it off I replace the tires and rod ends and I've not put it back on.

Interesting, look at this seller discription of this one and his was on a 782D. 782Ds are IH, IIRR the 1512s are the CCC version of the 782D.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
