Here are some pics of my Dad's 61 OCC. He has been gone over 7 years now but she is still going strong and will pass it on to my Son and Grandson some day.
Its Serial # 14,882 and I also own #14,883. My Dad and I repainted it about 15 years or so ago and she still looks pretty good. It was stripped to bare metal, used used a rattle can bare metal primer and used a lower line acrylic enamel called Western I think. Virtually no peeling and still has a good shine. Not bad for the cheaper stuff. I plan to tear this one and 14,883 down and rebuild and paint both in the next few years, take them to a few shows when I get a little older. ![]() Randy

Wow that looks great. The bigger story is oh my word how did you get the next in line serial number that's amazing! With 65,000 made that's actually something to be very proud of and you should play the lottery sir!
Really though that O is extremely nice, thanks for sharing.

I had already bought it and had it on the trailer when I looked at the number. Dang good thing I didn't look first or I would have had to pay more! I don't have a poker face! I bought them 30 miles and a few years apart, just dumb luck. I will never part with them however! Randy

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
