Default I loves me some wide frames! (A 109 this time)

Haven't picked up a Cub in a couple years. The stable is full, and I have so many other projects underway, but I do look at CL from time to time. That is my downfall, for sure!

Found a running 109 about 10 miles from the house, a little rough, but it does start, runs, hydro works as designed, PTO is toast (fell off), seat is...well, it is. Brakes need work, hood hinge and front grill are gone, but mower deck is solid and tires are good. A PO put a bunch of holes in the fenders and a couple in the front grill frame (I think they had lights mounted).

Going in the shed for a future project. I have a K301 I'm working on now, so the 109 will have to wait.

Do y'all think my trailer tie-down was sufficient? (couldn't put my hands on a ratchet strap..)

Since it appears you got it home safe it was adequate.

Sometimes you gotta break the humdrum of everyday monotony with a cub find.

Looks like you got it for a Lew price, who ever he is.

He was asking $325, I offered $250, we settled on $300.

That's about 3x a Lew price, isn't it?

Most running, complete Cubs in Central Virginia are $500-$750. One running, decent looking 1450 that I called about is listed for $850 Firm.

Glad it's got a new home. Quite a series of holes in that fender

If you think Central VA is tough try SW VA.

Congrats on the new addition.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
