Can anyone tell me the measurements of the placement of the Original's hood decal? I would like to know how many inches from the front of the hood to the decal. I have a Hunter Douglas decal, and ready to put it on. That will be the last thing I have to do to the old girl.

I don't think there is a spec for the exact location. It should be closer to the front. Google some pics and kind of get a feel for where it goes. Wherever you place it, it's more important that it is the same side for side. I'm sure that they used some kind of reference point at the factory. Maybe someone will measure theirs, but I bet you find that they are not all exactly the same.

Thanks, I think your correct. I have been searching around, and they are all a little different. I think about 4 inches from the front of the hood will be about right?

I'd say that's pretty close. I looked through some books of mine and that appears to be the most consistent location. I'd say 4" is right.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
